REMEMBRANCE on the RIVER is a yearly event held on the banks of the beautiful Roanoke River. Our mission is to give Honor to our War Heroes and to tell the story and ensure all citizens understand the history and the importance of the service to God and Country that every service member provides. This inspiring event’s two primary founders are the NC AMVETS Service Foundation, a 501(C)(3) charitable organization, and Bruce Tyler, a combat veteran and local business owner of Weldon Mills Distillery.

Show your support for our fallen Heroes by floating the Roanoke River as a group from the Gaston landing of the Roanoke River to the event site at the Weldon landing (3-4 hour float). Join the floating fundraiser by registering here. Tubes and life-jackets will be provided along with shuttle service from the event site to Gaston landing. We will gather together for a short ceremony at the wall, then shuttle everyone to the Gaston landing launch site.

We encourage everyone to incorporate a memorial theme into their floating fundraiser as we remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Our goal is to have 50 floaters. (show registered floater numbers)

Safety is our priority and River City Rescue will be providing Swift Water Rescue swimmers to float and guide the group.
